PSSSB Warder & Matron Recruitment 2024 – Apply Online for 179 Posts

The Punjab Subordinate Service Selection Board (PSSSB) has released a notification for the recruitment of Warder and Matron positions for a total of 179 posts. Interested candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can apply online. Below are the vacancy details and qualifications required for the positions.

Physical Standards and Efficiency Tests for Warder

The recruitment process for Warders includes a Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and a Physical Efficiency Test (PET). Candidates must meet specific physical standards and perform certain physical tasks to qualify. Detailed criteria are provided below:

Physical Measurement Test (PMT):

  • Minimum Height:
    • 5 feet 7 inches
    • 5 feet 4-1/2 inches for Dogras and Gurkhas
  • Chest: 33' unexpanded, 34-1/2' expanded
  • Vision: Normal in both eyes (with or without spectacles), must not be colour blind

Physical Efficiency Test (PET):

For Male Candidates:

  • 100 Meters Run – 15 Seconds (only one chance)
  • Shot Put (7.26 Kg) (16 pounds) – 5.50 meters (Three chances)
  • Rope Climbing – 15 feet (Three chances)

For Ex-Servicemen Candidates (Male):

  • 100 Meters Run – 17.5 Seconds (only one chance)
  • Shot Put (7.26 Kg) (16 pounds) – 5.00 meters (Three chances)
  • Rope Climbing – 12 feet (Three chances)

Note: Wards of Ex-Servicemen will have to qualify the physical efficiency test as per the criteria fixed for general category candidates.

The recruitment process for Matrons includes a Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and a Physical Efficiency Test (PET). Candidates must meet specific physical standards and perform certain physical tasks to qualify. Detailed criteria are provided below:

Physical Measurement Test (PMT):

  • Minimum Height: 5 feet 3 inches
  • Weight: 50 Kg and above
  • Vision: Normal in both eyes (with or without spectacles), must not be colour blind

Physical Efficiency Test (PET):

For Female Candidates:

  • 100 Meters Run – 18.5 Seconds (only one chance)
  • Shot Put (5.443 Kg) (12 pounds) – 4.00 meters (Three chances)
  • Rope Climbing – 12 feet (Three chances)

For Ex-Servicewomen Candidates (Female):

  • 100 Meters Run – 20.0 Seconds (only one chance)
  • Shot Put (5.443 Kg) (12 pounds) – 3.5 meters (Three chances)
  • Rope Climbing – 10 feet (Three chances)

Note: Wards of Ex-Servicewomen will have to qualify the physical efficiency test as per the criteria fixed for general category candidates.
